The Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Company took delivery of a new pumper/tanker on Saturday October 9th. The unit is a 2010 International with a 435 hp motor and automatic transmission. The apparatus body was built by KME Fire Apparatus of Nesquehoning, PA and has a 2500 gallon water tank, 2000 GPM Hale pump, Hale Class A foam system with 20 gallon tank,and a 8000 kw Onan generator.
The unit is expected to be in service within the next two weeks and will be called Tanker 2025. It was purchased with the assistance of a $265,000 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant and replaces a 1979 pumper and a 1984 tanker.
