Our Wellness Committee is working on several projects for the new year to help Potter County employees become healthier. Among those initiatives is a collaboration with Charles Cole Memorial Hospital and Potter County’s school districts to address health issues on a regional scope.
To insure we are meeting the needs of the employees, the committee is asking each of you to please fill out Highmark’s Health Risk Assessment. Go to www.highmarkbcbs.com and click “Members” tab. If you do not have a login ID and password, you will be asked to create one.
The survey takes about 20 minutes. Your report is confidential, is not given to Highmark or Potter County, and is conducted by Health Media, an independent contractor. Results are tabulated and an aggregate report will be made available so that the committee can target specific needs in its work.
A representative from Highmark, Lisa Holden, will be in Coudersport on Friday, Jan. 28, to assist anyone who may need help in the process. Lisa will be at the Gunzburger Annex from 10 to noon for Coudersport-based employees, and at Human Services in Roulette from 1 to 3pm. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Department heads will be asked to lend their support to this effort. If you have any questions, please contact Susan Kefover at skefover@pottercountypa.net. Phone: 260-0101.
On a related note, the Wellness Committee is forming teams to run and/or walk in the God’s Country Marathon on Saturday, June 4. Employees, their family members and friends are all eligible to sign up and then commit to a specific distance, either running or walking. Look for signup sheets on bulletin boards or with from your supervisor, starting Tuesday, Jan. 25. If you have any questions, please contact committee members Gary Kelsey, John Hetrick, Donna Foust, Melissa Gee, Deanna Dow, Angela Milford or Susan Kefover.
The Wellness Center will solicit sponsors for our teams so that the entry fee will be paid with money to spare for good causes: Meals on Wheels, Christmas House, or whatever the teams choose.
