Firefighters from Harrison Township, Austin, Roulette & Emporium spent sixteen hours on October 30-31 attending a Pump I Operations Class in Austin.
Firefighters were introduced and refreshed on basic pump construction and operating techniques. Emphasis was placed on getting water to the pump, getting water from the pump for hose streams, and prevention of common mistakes in pump operations.
The Class, hosted by Austin Volunteer Fire Company, was instructed by Jim Shepard and Ron Adams of Bucks County Community College.
