County employees are once again being encouraged to support the American Cancer Society “Daffodil Days” fund-raiser. Judy Eckert (Cooperative Extension) has agreed to spearhead the project for county offices. She can be reached for more information at 274-8540, or at jae17@psu.edu. Orders are being taken from now through Tuesday, Feb. 22. Items will be delivered on March 14. Options include Daffodil Bunches of 10, $10; Vase of Hope, $15; Boyd’s Bear With Bunch, $25; and Mini-Pot of Daffodils, $12.
Forty percent of the proceeds of local Daffodil Days sales benefit cancer research. The remaining 60 percent goes toward programs and services for patients within the local chapters. One of these programs is Road to Recovery, where volunteer van drivers transport patients to treatments. Another is Look Good, Feel Better, which works with local beauticians to help women patients who have lost their hair.
